→ About me

As a designer with an interest in fantasy, writing and mental health, I combine these themes through storytelling with text and visuals. Connecting the world of fiction with the experiences we have in reality, to entertain and engage the viewer at the same time. I love to connect different subjects or themes together, creating metaphors to communicate content in a less obvious way.

I feel like I am constantly growing and evolving, finding my way through life and who I am as a designer. It took me quite some time to understand that my creativity could lead me on to a path where I could communicate my thoughts with art and design. All through my years in highschool it felt like I had lost my creativity, being more focused on academics and to eventually start my study in Psychology. I had and still have a huge interest in psychology and mental health, but after a year and a half I realized I had lived the last few years on autopilot, not connected with myself. In the year and a half that followed, I found my creativity and love for creating again.
And in a moment where I wasn’t overwhelmed by fear, I signed up for the admission at Willem de Kooning Academy and got in, starting my journey as a designer. Four years later, after many projects as a freelancer and as a student, I graduated from my bachelor in Graphic Design, leaving me ready to develop my career further.

Because my creativity is intertwined with my emotions and feelings, I use my own perspective in the creating process, making my work personal and always changing. I as a human am constantly growing and evolving, my personal style reflecting me and therefore not always staying the same. I create for myself and for others by connecting graphic design with photography, books, illustrations and writing.
